About Us
ClimbAID is a Swiss non-profit organisation committed to sport-for-development, utilising climbing as an intervention tool to create positive change in communities. Our primary focus is on enhancing mental wellbeing, promoting inclusive communities, fostering personal development, and addressing social issues, particularly among displaced youth in Switzerland and Lebanon.
Since 2017, ClimbAID has been running a sport-for-development project in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, benefiting approximately 400 young people each year. This includes individuals from both the local Lebanese population and the Syrian and Palestinian refugee community.
In Switzerland, our journey began in 2016. Since then, we have established a strong network of 13 climbing gyms and over 150 volunteer climbers across the country. Through their dedicated efforts, we organise weekly climbing sessions that benefit approximately 500 asylum seekers annually, aiding their integration and providing them with valuable life skills.
Through the power of climbing and our collaborative endeavours, ClimbAID aims to empower individuals, foster social cohesion, improve mental wellbeing and create meaningful opportunities for personal growth.
ClimbAID is tax-exempted registered with the Commercial Register of Canton Zurich under UID CHE-423.801.579.
